maTRellAm vallavanE varuga SrI

Oh vinAyaka (vinAyakanE), who is the embodiment of knowledge (gnyAna), who is all that is good (nallavanE), and then (maTRu), he is all (ellAm) that is capable (vallavanE), please come (varuga)! I seek refuge (SaraNam).

I beheld (kaNDEn) an (Or) amazing sight (vicittiram) that extended (aLAviya) to the skies (vAnam)! My lord (mannavanE), I experienced (koNDEn) supreme bliss (paramAnandam) [1].

The essence/meaning (poruLE) of the truth (unmayin) of the praNava, called (ennum) OM. Oh divine/good grace (naTRaruLE) revealed (kATTum) by this recitation/poem/chant (Odum) in the rAga gambhIranATTai, please grant (arulE) me (tanakku) felicity in the beautiful (sen) tamizh, the property of your brother, muruga (svAmi SaravaNa). (If you do, then), the beauty/happiness of divine harmony (tiru samarasam) will be firmly established (tangum) and (your) fame (pugazhadu) will flourish (pongum) everywhere (engum) in this world (jagamadil).

[1] paramAnandam can signify both supreme happiness and the Supreme Lord as well.
