Oh vinAyaka (vinAyakanE), who is the embodiment of knowledge (gnyAna), who is all that is good (nallavanE), and then (maTRu), he is all (ellAm) that is capable (vallavanE), please come (varuga)! I seek refuge (SaraNam).

Oh divine/good grace (naTRaruLE) revealed (kATTum) by this recitation/poem/chant (Odum) in the rAga gambhIranATTai, please grant (arulE) me (tanakku) felicity in the beautiful (sen) tamizh, the property of your brother, muruga (svAmi SaravaNa). (If you do, then), the beauty/happiness of divine harmony (tiru samarasam) will be firmly established (tangum) and (your) fame (pugazhadu) will flourish (pongum) everywhere (engum) in this world (jagamadil).
